Tucking

Introduction

Having a visible bulge in your pants is generally considered an indication that that person has a penis and thus is treated as though they are male. For many transgender women (and some nonbinary transfems) this causes gender dysphoria. Tucking is convenient way to hide the presence of what is unwanted. Sometimes, tucking is done as one waits for the oppurtunity for vaginoplasty, while other women simply don't desire surgery and keep on tucking out of personal preference.

Regardless of how long or how frequently a trans woman decides to tuck, it can be a great source of gender euphoria for her to be able to appear flat and smooth down there. Tucking can be done with a garment known as a gaff (links for ones that can be purchased online at the bottom of this page, though they can also be made out of cut pantyhose). A gaff is a compression garment used to flatten external genitalia. Some people who are not transgender will tuck for the purposes of cosplay or drag.

General Information

Tucking may sometimes be midly uncomfortable. If you are experincing pain, stop doing what you're doing and take a break (or try a different approach). It is advised to first practice tucking in the comfort of your own home before attempting to do so in public to avoid stress.

To tuck, you first need to gather your supplies. These supplies include medical tape, a snug/tight pair of underwear, and a gaff (or gaff subsitute). Once the supplies are gathered, the first step is to tuck the testes back into their respective inguinal canals. This can be done by gently and carefully using your fingers to guide them back up. Stop if you experice any pain or discomfort, and try again after a short break. The next step after the testes are out of the way is to wrap the penis with the scrotum (if you decide to secure this with medical tape, it is advised to do have done some hair removal prior to introducing adhesives). Once that's secured, tuck everything under (between the legs) and secure in place with the underwear (and/or the gaff). If not using tape - have the underwear and/or gaff at the ready so that it can be pulled up quickly.

While not using tape is less secure, it is more convinent in terms of using the bathroom.

Risks

Risks when it comes to tucking are underresearched, largely anecdotal, but something to take into consideration. Avoid using tape not intended to go on your skin, and be extremely careful when tucking/untucking.

Potential risks may include; urinary trauma, infections, testicular compliants.

Some people have experienced involuntary erections while tucking due to the stimulation caused during the process.
