- Datefriend/Datemate - A gender neutral term for a significant other. Can be used in the same manner as words such as boyfriend or girlfriend.
- Deadname - Many transgender people decide to change their given name as a part of their social transition. The 'original' name that is no longer used is often referred to as a 'deadname.' To deadname someone is to refer to them by this name. Doing so is considered to be transphobic.
- Degendering - The act of eliminating references to a specific gender, or the act of making something genderless.
- Demiboy - Someone who identifies partially, but not wholly, with being a boy or a man.
- Demigirl - Someone who identifies partially, but not wholly, with being a girl or a woman.
- Detransition - When someone decides to 'undo' their transition, be it socially or medically. Detransitioning can occur for various reasons. A common reason is due to lack of support from family, community, or friends. Some people detransition due to realizing that they are not transgender, though this is quite rare.
- D.F.A.B. - Designated Female At Birth (Note: This term is usually reserved for those who are intersex.)
- D.G.A.B. - Designated Gender At Birth (Note: This term is usually reserved for those who are intersex.)
- Diaphragm - A perscription contraceptive that is 83%-94% effective at preventing pregnancy.
- D.M.A.B. - Designated Male At Birth (Note: This term is usually reserved for those who are intersex.)
- Double Incision - A type of FTM top surgery.
- Drag King - Someone who dresses in an exaggeration of masculinity, typically as part of a performance. Drag Kings can be any gender, trans or cis.
- Drag Queen - Someone who dresses in an exaggeration of femininity, typically as part of a performance. Drag Queens can be any gender, trans or cis.
- Dyadic - A term meaning "of two." Someone who is not intersex.
