Marinette stumbled into her room, and collapsed onto a swivel chair, miserable over the the horror, her classmate Kim had been turned into. She turned on her computer, which was turned onto the breaking news. The footage showed the destruction that the rampaging beast was causing. She sighed, and glanced down. On her desk, there was what looked like a small black jewelry box. Out of curiosity, she opened it, and jerked back at the sudden bubble of green light that encircled the opening. She swiveled around, looking back at the box, and stared at the small black creature that emerged.
“Hello,” he said, and Marinette fell over shrieking, and pinned herself against the wall.
“What are you?!?!” she yelled, throwing things at the little creature.
The tiny creature dodged the flying objects, annoyed, yelling out - “Hey… stop.. Mari… nette….” until he allowed himself to be trapped under a glass that Marinette covered him with.
When she started yelling for her mom, he escaped, and flew right in front of her face. “No, Marinette you aren't allowed to tell anyone about me. It's important understand.”
“What?” she asked bewildered.
“Ugh.” the floating being groaned, “I suppose I’ll have to explain it you then.”
“Ok.” Marinette said shakily.
Marinette listened to the kwami explain what he was and what she had to do.
When he was done, she said, “Why don’t you go ask Alya to be a superhero? She’s into that kind of thing there’s no way that i could -”
“No,” Plagg interrupted, “It has to be you. You were the one chosen, Marinette.”
“Ok,” she said, reluctantly, slipping on the ring. “But just this once.”
“Now, to transform, say ‘Claws Out.” Plagg explained.
“‘Claws Out’?” she said, quizzically. There was a swirl of wind, and a flash of blinding white light, and suddenly Plagg was gone, and Marinette was wearing a strange costume. She walked in front of the mirror, and stared at herself, astonished. It was a suit of what looked like black latex. Her hands had gloves and her feet were covered in boots. They were connected to the rest of the full-body suit, despite looking like they would be in multiple pieces. She had two zipper pockets (she checked, and they were actual pockets) and two black ears on top of her head. There was a collar with a bell around her neck, and a belt that looked like a tail around her waist.
“Marinette!’ her mom was yelling, “are you ok?”
“I’m fine, mom!” Marinette yelled downstairs.
She heard her mom’s footsteps approaching, and ran upstairs to the patio on the roof. She remembered the stick the had, and removed it from the back of her suit. “Ok, so, apparently, I have a magic stick.”
She extended the stick, and went flying halfway across Paris.
